Dairy imports are among the most rule-bound consignments at the port. A halal certificate from an accredited body is required, imported consumer food must retain a minimum remaining shelf life, measured from both the IGM filing date and the date of manufacture, and food-standard conformity is checked before release. Miss one of these and a container of milk powder can be held or refused. We verify every one of them before we file.
Powdered milk also carries a regulatory duty, applied to protect local dairy, on top of customs duty and sales tax. We assess the full landed cost, duty, regulatory duty and taxes, so there are no unpleasant surprises after arrival.
Not all milk powder is treated alike. Infant formula and breast-milk substitutes are regulated by DRAP as health products, on a pathway distinct from bulk dairy food. We separate these lines correctly, route infant-formula clearance through its DRAP requirements and keep bulk dairy on the food-standard track, so each is cleared under the right regime.
From skimmed and full-cream milk powder to whey, dietetic foods for medical purposes and infant nutrition, we clear the full basket through Karachi with the halal, shelf-life and conformity documentation these sensitive goods demand.
Dairy and food imports are cleared under food-standard rules and Pakistan Customs; infant formula under DRAP.
